NOCIVELLI PRIZE 2025 – 16th EDITION
In 2009, to celebrate and honor Luigi Nocivelli’s passion for culture and contemporary art in Italy, his family founded the Associazione Culturale Techne. Since its inception, the association has established the Premio Nocivelli, a contemporary art competition with the patronage and support of the Lombardy Region, the Province of Brescia, the Municipality of Brescia, and the Ugo Da Como Foundation. This year, for the first time, the awards ceremony and the finalists’ exhibition will also be hosted at the Rocca di Lonato del Garda.
The Prize has successfully built and renewed collaborations with major artistic institutions, including the Santa Giulia Academy of Fine Arts, the Fondazione Provincia di Brescia Eventi, vanilla edizioni, and Espoarte, all dedicated to promoting contemporary culture.
The Premio Nocivelli is a contemporary art competition with an open theme, divided into three categories: Painting, Sculpture, and Photography. It is open to artists under the age of 40 of any nationality, provided they are active in Italy.
Since 2023, the competition has become biennial, allowing for greater focus on organization and support for winning artists in their subsequent activities. The website offers intuitive tools for registration and artist profile management. At the end of each edition, only the profiles of finalists and winners will remain available online.
The jury committee for the Nocivelli Prize 2025 will be chaired by Martino Scavezzon, professor of painting and drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. Alongside him, curator Daniele Astrologo Abadal will lead the jurors in selecting the artists. As in previous years, the jury for the Coppa Luigi will be separate from the main panel.
During the awards ceremony on September 14, 2025, the winners of the Nocivelli Prize 2025 will be announced: two for each category (including one overall winner), as well as the winner of the Coppa Luigi. The event will be followed by the inauguration of the exhibition dedicated to the finalists.
The seven winning artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their works at Palazzo Martinengo Novarino Cesaresco in Brescia in November 2025. In 2026, the overall winner will have the chance to publish an artist’s book, while the Coppa Luigi winner will participate in an artist residency.
